As the crisp weather of Fall approaches, some of us are returning indoors sooner (and longer) than we’d like. To help keep the cabin fever at bay, bring highlights from the outdoors in with cabin-chic accents that transport you.

Transition from the light, bright hues of spring and summer into dark tones that evoke intimate surroundings. The space will need ambiance, so create an inviting mood with warm, spicy scented candles, mimic a night by the fire with smoky tobaccos and musk or bring in some zen with spirit-lifting reed diffusers in sandalwood and linen aromas. These double as accent pieces and when housed in burnished brass and distressed metal, the hint of vintage appeal will blend in effortlessly among different styles.

Sophisticated settings like the dining or formal rooms should welcome bold, standalone canvas artwork in juxtaposition to other statement decor rooted in natural elements. Wildlife imagery contrast against smooth, ceramic vases and stoneware bowls work well together from the kitchen to the table.
